Where North Yorkshire members are

York has by far the largest group of North Yorkshire members, nearly a third of the county. Harrogate and Scarborough come next, then Selby and the towns south of York, the coast from Whitby down to Bridlington, and a few members on the Teesside edge around Middlesbrough and Redcar.

Single men lead, couples are a strong second, and there's a reasonable group of single women. Both men and couples skew older here.

Getting around: The A64 runs from York to Scarborough in about an hour, the A59 to Harrogate in forty minutes, and the A19 north toward Teesside. The A1(M) passes down the west of the county, and York to Leeds is twenty-five minutes by train.

Meeting up: York is where most of the county ends up for a first drink, with the most bars and the best trains. Coast members are far enough away that they tend to meet each other, or widen the search to Hull.
